At the initiative of the leading universities of Uzbekistan and Russia on October 18-19, 2018 in Tashkent as part of the official visit of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin to the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted the First Russian-Uzbek educational forum "New cadres - for the new economy."

The forum discussed issues of comprehensive cooperation in the educational sphere between our fraternal states. In particular, one of the key issues was the training of highly qualified personnel for various sectors of the national economy of Uzbekistan. From the Russian side, the forum was attended by employees of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, federal executive bodies, heads of educational institutions of higher education. The official delegation formed by the Russian Union of Rectors included the rector of the North Caucasus Mining and Metallurgical Institute (State Technological University) Yuri Dmitrak. SKGMI after meeting Uzbek specialists with Russian universities was chosen by the Uzbek side as a reference in terms of training specialists for the mining and metallurgical complex of Uzbekistan - a corresponding invitation was received by the university from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation.

On the final day of the visit of the rector of SKGMI Yu.V. Dmitraka in Uzbekistan, he met with the Director of the international company ZARMET, who is also the Head of the representative office of GAZPROM Avtomatizatsiya in the Republic of Uzbekistan - Zakir Avezov. The meeting discussed the issues of training specialists with knowledge of technical English for foreign representations of Uzbek mining and metallurgical companies, and also identified areas of cooperation in the field of automation of technological processes in the mining and metallurgical industries of Uzbekistan.

Analyzing the scientific and technical potential of the Department of Power Supply of Industrial Enterprises, presented in the presentation of individual structural divisions of SKGMI, Zakir Avezov highly appreciated the laboratory base of the department and noted that at the moment all necessary conditions for high-quality training of specialists in the field of mining, metallurgical and oil chemical enterprises.

Upon returning from the Forum Yu.V. Dmytrak noted the critical importance of the trip to establish direct cooperation with leading mining and metallurgical and design companies in Uzbekistan and expressed confidence that such cooperation would be mutually beneficial and would give a new impetus to the improvement of the training system for highly qualified personnel at SKGMI.
